This post will probably be terribly boring for most of you....ok all of you except maybe Ko. And us. We're mostly writing this for us. Maybe you'll find some of it entertaining. Maybe you wont. Get over it. If you don't want to read it, then don't. It's not like we're making you. Ok. Get over it.
Here goes.
Day 1:
Salt Lake International Airport. Probably the happiest place on earth...because it leads to the happiest places on earth. Destination 1--New York City Baby! Turns out our big final destination is Ireland. We were so excited to go, that naturally we decked ourselves out in our favorite Irish gear. (courtesy of Janae...thank goodness for Vanity. I don't think it would have happened with out Hallmark. So lets face it (I may be over using that phrase "let's face it" tonight....it just sounds right, so get over it. I'm over using that one too.)we owe it all to Hallmark).
We looked so cool in Utah. People were staring at us with envious eyes. They knew. They knew we were going to Ireland. It was written all over us. Literally. So, we board the plane and there is a freaking hot guy sitting across the isle from Janae. I knew he was Mormon. I mean, you can just tell. He was totally Mormon. Janae has always wanted to hit on someone on an airplane. Become a member of the mile high club someday maybe. This was her chance. (except I was sure he was Mormon so he wouldn't be doing that...maybe a Mormon version of it...I think we'd call that 7 Minutes in Heaven.) Janae's chicken. A big fat chicken. (I have close up pictures to prove it....there are plenty of me too...it couldn't have anything to do with the swedish I'm eating right now, or the oily delightful chips we've made 3 nights in a row. No. It has nothing to do with that.) She never mustered up the courage to talk to him. But the heavens were on her side. Rick Steve's accompanied us on our trip. He was by our side the entire time. Janae studied him like a text book the entire flight and luckily Hot Mormon boy sitting next to her took notice. At the very end of our flight he spoke up. I'm sure it had nothing to do with the fact that he was in fact Irish. From Dublin. (yeah...he wasn't Mormon...I was SO wrong.) His accent made him 35x's hotter. I don't even know if that was possible. But it was. He told us a few of the best spots we needed to see. I don't think any of us remembered of a word he said. We were too mesmerized by his beauty.
Exhibit A. Sorry, we couldn't get his face. It would be too obvious. Luckily he was traveling with two other hot Irish boys. Unluckily we are all Big Fat Chickens. Europeans wear tighter pants. We liked it. A lot.

So we landed in the big city. Problem is, we don't have Nicole's iPhone with us. NBC. We knew we could figure it out. It's just New York right? Our first New York destination was the Howard Johnson in queens. It was a really classy place. We are high rollers. We tipped the taxi driver $0.37. That's right. 37 cents. We're jerks. We did it on accident.
Day 2:
A bus stop in front of Burger King in Queens. Was it more ghetto than Rosepark? Yes. More ghetto than Glendale? Yes. More ghetto than Harvey Street in West Valley? Of course. Did we love it? Absolutely.
We road the bus into Manhattan. Thank goodness Janae knew a little bit of where to go. The people in New York are REAL nice. They helped us get there. They thought we were so weird with our huge luggage (mine was HEAVY). We wasted no time, and hopped on the subway right away.
We popped out at the World Trade Center's cause Janae's cousin is a high roller. Their apartment was way nicer then the Howard Johnson. I know, its hard to believe, but it was true.
This is what we woke up to in the morning.
And that we did. We saw all of the cool places in New York. But it's late and I'm tired so I will spare you most of the details. I'm going to sum it in a few memorable quotes and pictures.
"No, we go out here, and back down here. I’m sure. Can you let us in? Nope, you have to wait 18 min."
"Do you know how gross the bathrooms are at Grand Central? Try having a Celiac attack there."
"Sorry, we just couldn’t shop for her. She would have hated it."
"Broadway…in New York? NEVER. Enjoy your two hours of culture Michelle…we’ll be right outside the door waiting for you."
"What did you do in New York? Oh…we walked."
Laura’s dream come true. "Grandmas shop at Sac’s, and they’re not your ordinary grandmas."

Tulu’s… “they don’t know how to do GF in New York.”
"Wall Street…rich guys…too bad it’s Sunday."
"The MET, just act interested."
"Where the H is a Chipotle."
“I know exactly what the Empire State Building looks like, I saw it on a dress on Project Runway.”
“Oh hey, there’s NBC and ABC and Juliard and CNN and Little Italy, and Chinatown…again. “
“They wake up here….those rich snots.”
“Who knew New York could be so peaceful. If you fall in, we’re going to Ireland without you.”
“I don’t even like hamburgers. Shake Shack is different.”
“Here, let me get that table for you.”
“Where the H are the bathrooms? Oh, they’re 3 blocks down or in the basement.”
“We have to pee. You don’t understand, we HAVE to pee…we don’t care if you’re already peeing. We’re coming in anyway.”
“Are you going in there? We just saw rats.” Dude, it’s Serendipity, of course we’re going in.
"We’re in New York. We do what we want. We come home when we want. We should have gotten in earlier."
So there you have it folks. (not like you're still reading. I doubt Ko even makes it this far). This concludes our stay in New York, and my blog post for tonight. Peace out foos!
